New TK2d Early Symptom Reflection Tool Supports Better Clinical Conversations

30 Jun, 2026

UMDF, in collaboration with UCB, has launched a new resource designed specifically for people living with TK2d and those who support them: the TK2d Early Symptom Reflection Tool. This practical, patient‑centred tool helps individuals prepare for more informed and productive conversations with their clinical care team.

TK2d can present with early symptoms that are subtle, varied, or difficult to recall during the pressure of an appointment. The Reflection Tool guides users through gentle prompts about early experiences, changes, and observations that might otherwise be forgotten. By capturing these details ahead of time, patients and caregivers can enter appointments better able to communicate what matters most.

However you choose to use it, your reflections can help shape a more meaningful dialogue with your clinician and support shared decision‑making.

This is a welcome addition to the growing set of resources empowering the mito community to advocate for their needs and participate actively in their care.
