TK2d Day is here!

9 Sep, 2026

To mark TK2d Awareness Day, watch the stories of three inspirational families as they share their journeys with TK2d.

TK2d Awareness Day, observed on 8 September, is a global initiative dedicated to raising awareness of thymidine kinase 2 deficiency (TK2d), an ultra-rare and life-threatening mitochondrial disease. The day brings together patients, families, caregivers, clinicians and advocates to share experiences, amplify the voices of those affected, and highlight the importance of timely diagnosis, support, research and equitable access to treatment. Through powerful personal stories and community engagement, TK2d Awareness Day helps increase understanding of this rare condition and inspires hope for those impacted by the disease.
